Acting - Imporvisation
Petros Zoulias
Born in Piraeus, graduated from Aristotle University’s Law School. He studied at the Drama School of Roula Pateraki, as well as at the School of Cinema and TV “Lykourgos Stavrakou”. He has directed two movies for the cinema and he has been awarded as a Director from the Union of Greek Critics (April 2022). He has been artistic manager, since 1997, at theatre “Hora”. Since 2002 he teaches in the Athens Higher Drama School-“G. Theodosiadis”. He has directed, among others, for the National Theatre, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, Greek National Opera, Pallas Theatre, Hora Theatre, Badminton, Theatre of Erodus and the Athens’ Concert Hall.
Lilly Meleme
Born in Athens. Graduated from the English Department (Athens University) and the Higher Drama School “Jenny Karezi”. She also graduated from the Postgraduate Laboratory of Acting and Directing of the National Theatre (Experimental Stage of the National Theatre). She has directed for the National Theatre, The Experimental Stage of the National Theatre, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, as well as many private theatre troupes. She has attended various seminars: stage movement, industrialism, acrobatics, performance etc, with leading Russian teachers from the State Institute of Art (Moscow), as well as the Vakhtangov Theatre School. She teaches in the Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”. She has also taught in the National Theatre School of Drama, as well as other drama schools.
Nikos Nikas
Born in Athens. Graduated from Athens’ University, School of Philosophy and Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”. He has also studied Piano and Classical Singing. He has worked with many directors both at theatre and at the television. He teaches Improvisation in Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”.
Agoritsa Oikonomou
Born in Athens, she graduated from the Athens Higher Drama School-“G. Theodosiadis”. Since 2000 she works in theatre, having played, among other at the National Theatre, Onassis Stegi, ancient theatre of Epidaurus and many more. She has also took part in many movies for the cinema and has participated in a tv series. She has been nominated with the award for the 1st female leading role (Athinorama awards) for her part in The Beauty Queen of Leenane and the award for the 2nd female role for her part in Nine.
Vassilis Risvas
Born in Piraeus, he studied graphic arts, music and singing. Graduated from the Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”. Since, he participated in many theatre performances both in the National Theatre and other state theatres, as in many private theatre troupes. He is also playing in tv and he has written many tv scripts. He writes and adapts theatre plays. He has worked for newspapers as a graphic designer and as a radio producer.
Pegky Stathakopoulou
Born in Athens. Graduated from the Law School (Athens University) and the Drama School of the National Theatre. She has worked extensively for the theatre, as well as the television and the cinema. She has been radio producer in many radio broadcasts and she has also been tv presenter. In theatre, she worked with the National Theatre and many state and national theatres, as well as many private theatre troupes. She teaches in the Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”.
Natassa Assiki
Graduated from the Athens Higher Drama School-“G. Theodosiadis”. Since then, she has been working at the theatre and at the television, where she has participated in many series. Her first role was in the National television in the tv series Madame Sousou. At the theatre she has played many roles for both for state and private playhouses. She has also participated in cinema movies.
Dimitris Kataleifos
Born in Athens, he studied at the Law School, University of Athens, as well as at the Drama School “Pellos Katselis”. He has been working as an actor since, both for the theatre and the television, as well as the cinema. He has been among the inaugurators of “Skini” and the theatrical organization “Morfi”. He has been awarded the “Aimilios Veakis” award (2002-2004) and he has also been awarded three awards from Athinorama magazine. In cinema he participated in many movies, among which, Stone Years, Ola einai dromos and Nyfes by Pantelis Voulgaris, Kavafis by Giannis Smaragdis and Theofilos by Lakis Papastathis, for which he has been awarded the award for male leading role at the Thessaloniki cinema festival, 1987. He has participated in various tv series. He has taught in many drama schools, as well as at the departments of theatre in the Universities of Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras. He has recently published two poetic collections.
Voice and Speech
Vassilis-Denachis Kostopoulos
Vassilis-Denachis Kostopoulos graduated from the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering (NTUA). He then continued his studies at the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts. He took his Postgraduate Diploma in Performance from the Royal Academy of Music of London with Distinction. He received full scholarship from the National Opera Studio (U.K.). Since 2017 he has been teaching in Music Conservatories and Drama Schools. His repertoire includes 42 leading roles for the Opera, songs and other music pieces for religious music. He also performs musical songs and modern music compositions of the 20th and 21st century. He has collaborated, among others, with Athens Music Concert Hall, Greek National Opera, Bangkok Opera, Glyndbourne Festival Opera, Oxford City Opera etc. He has been awarded by the Union of Melodrama Actors, “Maria Kallas” Grand Prix and the National Mozart Competition.
Movement - Dance
Kiki Baka
Born in Giannena. Graduated from National School of Dance (ΚΣΟΤ). Continued her studies in New York, at the Merce Cunningham, with full scholarship (Koula Pratsika Foundation), where she attended courses on modern dance techniques (i.e. Alexander Technique, Release Technique, Susan Klein technique, Contact Improvisation). In 1995, she founded the dance company sinequanon, where she worked both as a dancer and as a choreographer. The company worked with the Athens Concert Hall, the Greek Festival, the Center Culturel Aragon-France, the Biennale of New Artists (Rome). It also organized two international dance festivals (Travelogue 98 και Taxidromio 99) and it travelled both in Greece and abroad. She also worked as a dancer with the Greek National Opera, as well as with various dance groups, both in Greece and in New York. She was awarded the prize for best dancer, in 1993. She teaches in the Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”, since 2016. She also works as choreographer in the theatre, as well as a performer in many theatre kinds: children's theatre, modern, ancient drama, comedies, performance. She has cooperated with the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the National Theatre and many other state and private theatre troupes.
Dramatology - Theatre History
Tonia Tsamouris
Dr. Tsamouris holds a BA on Theatre Studies (Drama Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), an MA on Drama and Theatre Studies (Drama Department, Royal Holloway, University of London) and a PhD on Harold Pinter’s plays and screenplays in relation to Maurice Merleau Ponty’s Theory of phenomenology (English School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). Her Post-doc Research was on Edward Albee’s theatre in relation to Ageism and Feminism (School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). She teaches, since 2010, History of Theatre and Dramatology to young actors (Athens’ Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”) and to the “Deree”-American College of Greece. She is Secretary of Eastern Europe at the Board of Directors, at the Edward Albee Society. She is also member of the “Harold Pinter Society” and of the Panhellenic Society of Theatrologists. She is a theatre critic (member of Hellenic Association of Theatre and Performing Arts Critics) and her critics are published in the theatre magazine “Theatrografies” (Dodoni editions), culturenow.gr and magazines in Greece and abroad. She has worked for more than 10 years at TV (as Reader and Project Manager, ANT1TV) and as a Researcher at the “Desmi” Centre for the Ancient Greek Drama.
History of Literature
Elena Maroutsou
Graduated from Athens’ University, School of Philosophy and has an MA on Literature and Visual Arts (Reading University of England). She has taught creative righting and literature reding in creative laboratories and seminars both for adults and children. She teaches Literature in Athens Higher School of Drama-“G. Theodosiadis”. She has worked in the Theatre Museum of Greece and she writes literary criticism in newspapers and magazines. She has written nine novels, for which she has been nominated. She has also translated novels and short stories from English. She has also exhibited her art works in galleries in Athens and elsewhere.
Stage Design - Costume Design
Giannis Metzikoff
Born in Chania. Graduated from Athens University Highest School of Fine Arts. He has designed the costumes and stage designs for many performances, both for theatre and the opera (National Theatre, Greek National Opera, Athens Concert Hall etc). He has worked with various important directors both in Greece and abroad. His exhibitions have been presented in Moscow Alexander Puscin museum, in the Russian state museum of St. Peterburg, in the museum of Valencia (Spain), at the Sao Paolo Bienale etc. In 2010 the Greek Gallery honoured him and presented all of his theatre work. The exhibition was subsequetly tranfered to Covent Garden (London).
